MEOW: First Catwoman Has Dim View Of 'Dark Knight'

To many older followers of the Caped Crusader, Julie Newmar is the only Catwoman. She launched the refined villainess to a large audience as the original Catwoman on the campy "Batman" television collection from the 1960s. But this Gotham City icon is not thrilled with the route the franchise took submit-Adam West. 📷In an interview with Michael Yo for Yahoo's "The Yo Show," Newmar, 78, lamented that recent Batman interpretations lack the fun cheeriness of the unique program.

"It is dark," she stated. "I feel we had so much enjoyable within the ‘60s, 1966 to 1968. After which Vietnam came and things kind of received darker and darker and darker." Newmar made Catwoman's original black pores and skin-tight cat burglar outfit iconic.
